Conference interpreting for high-stakes events
The room goes quiet and it's your interpreter's turn. Ours don't flinch. UN and UNESCO event experience, English and Spanish specialists.
What is conference interpreting?
Conference interpreting involves taking information from one language and transferring it into another. It can be used for large meetings or small gatherings, international summits, scientific congresses and everything in between.
Conference interpreters work on behalf of all participants, ensuring that everyone has had enough time to understand what is happening, so that no one feels excluded or vulnerable when important decisions are made without their input.
At Orion Translations we provide high-quality interpreting in over 25 languages to keep your conference flowing, available for events at competitive rates and with flexible timescales.
Interpreting modes we offer
Simultaneous interpreting: the interpreter speaks while the speaker continues, using booth and headset equipment. This is the standard for conferences, plenary sessions and large multilingual events, and it demands the highest skill level in the profession.
Consecutive interpreting: the speaker pauses after each segment and the interpreter delivers the message. Ideal for smaller meetings, negotiations, press conferences and Q&A sessions.
Whispered interpreting ("chuchotage"): the interpreter whispers a simultaneous rendition to one or two listeners, without equipment. Useful when only a few delegates need language support.
Remote and hybrid interpreting: interpretation delivered through video platforms for virtual or hybrid events, so your international audience is covered wherever they connect from.
Elevate your conference with expert interpretation
Looking to ensure seamless communication and engagement at your next international conference? Orion Translations delivers top-tier interpreting that bridges language barriers and fosters understanding.
Our interpreters are seasoned experts with years of experience in high-level conference settings, with specialised knowledge across industries and subject matters, technical, legal, scientific and more, and a proven track record of accurate, reliable interpretation for every participant.
We have also served as liaison officers at formal UN and UNESCO events, verifiable credentials from international organisations, not generic "international experience" claims.

Conference interpreting for businesses
In the corporate environment, having a certified interpreter such as those at Orion Translations not only gives you the opportunity to collaborate with multilingual clients, it also ensures you have an accurate, certified interpretation that is valid before any legal body. Whether you need simultaneous interpreting or chuchotage, an interpreter is an extremely valuable tool for IT and digital services companies, transport companies, tourism organisations, travel agencies, and any company with international operations.
How booking works
- Describe your event: number of participants, languages required, date and time, location or platform, and subject matter.
- Receive your quote: we respond within one business day with pricing and the interpreter profile assigned.
- Confirm the details: for scheduled conferences we recommend 5-10 business days' notice; for urgent needs, contact us and we will do everything possible to cover you.
- Event day: your interpreter arrives prepared, briefed on your terminology and agenda.
Preparation and confidentiality
Great conference interpreting starts before the event. We request agendas, speaker notes, slide decks and terminology in advance, so interpreters arrive fluent in your subject matter. All materials are handled under strict confidentiality and we sign NDAs on request, standard practice for the corporate boards, public institutions and international organisations we serve.
